Site and Accommodations

The Key Bridge Marriott is located at 1401 Lee Highway in Arlington, Virginia, just across the Francis Scott Key Bridge from the Georgetown district of Washington, D.C.  Guests can be reached at telephone 1-703-524-6400 and by fax at 1-703-524-8964.  We are currently scheduled to meet in Potomac Salon D, and if this changes we will let you know.

We have reserved a block of guest rooms at the Key Bridge at the group rate of $162, single/double occupancy, plus state and local taxes (currently 10.25%).  Click here to make your guest room reservations by selecting your check-in and check-out dates, or call Marriott Reservations at 800-676-2959 and reference the “National Science Foundation I/UCRC Evaluators Meeting.”  If you have special requests, call the Key Bridge directly at 703-524-6400 ask for Claudia and be sure to reference the “National Science Foundation I/UCRC Evaluators Meeting.”  To secure our group rate and ensure availability, please make your reservations by May 23, 2007, and before our block fills.  If you have any troubles, please let Kate Ryan know.

Key Bridge guest amenities include a full-service health club with Universal weight equipment, free weights, sauna, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and whirlpool; in-room coffee and tea service; and weekday newspaper delivery to your door.  Check-in time is 4:00pm; check-out time is 1:00pm.

Should you need to change your arrival date or cancel your reservation, you must call the Key Bridge Marriott by 6:00pm on your scheduled day of arrival or you will be charged for that night and the remainder of your reservation will automatically be canceled.  Again, the Key Bridge’s number is 703-524-6400.

Local Transportation and Parking

The Key Bridge Marriott is easily accessible via public transportation and taxi.  The Rosslyn Metro station (Blue and Orange lines) is two blocks from the hotel via the pedestrian skywalk.  When you exit the station, turn left and follow the signs to the skywalk.  You will see the Key Bridge Marriott across Fort Meyer Drive; follow the skywalk to it.

Georgetown University offers “The Blue Bus,” a neighborhood shuttle between the Rosslyn Metro and the Key Bridge.  The Blue Bus operates every 15 minutes from 7:00am to 11:00pm, and costs $1.50.  Pick it up at the front entrance of either the Rosslyn Metro or the Key Bridge.

Taxi fare is approximately $15.00 - $18.00 from Washington Reagan National Airport and $50.00 - $60.00 from Washington Dulles International and Baltimore/Washington International Airports.  Please note that the Key Bridge Marriott does not offer shuttle service directly to and from these airports.  If you wish to reserve SuperShuttle transportation, click here.

The maximum daily hotel parking rate at the Key Bridge Marriott is $12.00 per day.

High-Speed Internet Access for Guests

Wireless Internet access is available in all public areas of the hotel (i.e., in the lobby, restaurants, and corridors; not in guest or meeting rooms).  Wired Internet is available in guest rooms for $9.95 per day, which includes unlimited local and long distance (domestic) calling.

 

Attire and Climate
Casual and business casual attire are both appropriate for the Evaluators meeting, and the summer months in the Washington DC area can be hot and humid.  Please check with your favorite weather source before traveling, and bring what you need to be comfortable at the meeting, and to enjoy the hotel’s exercise facilities or partake of what the Rosslyn and Washington DC area has to offer.
