Poster Specifications

In Short

Directors of new Centers will prepare and display research posters during the Thursday evening reception and on Friday through the morning to introduce themselves and their research to and start conversations with others in the I/UCRC community.

Poster Format

  1. Maximum of 12 pages of 8 ½ “ x 11” paper (or equivalent) per poster. Poster boards will be 36” by 48” tri-fold tabletop design

  2. Use PowerPoint and a large font (over 24 pts) for text and graphics

  3. First page/section: Title page and universities. Include the names of the center, the university/ies, and the center director(s)

  4. Second page/section: Industry members. List all affiliated industry members and any other major funding sources (e.g., DoD)

  5. Third page/section: Research objectives and foci (abstract). Have a succinct description of your center’s research goal and a description of its major research thrust/focal areas.

  6. Pages 4 through 12: Research. Summarize your research projects (and/or special facilities and/or equipment)

    1. One to two projects per page

    2. Include title of the project, PI, and key bullets on the project

    3. Minimize text and use appropriate graphics to describe the project

Logistics

  1. Bring or ship your poster and a supply of business cards to the meeting

  2. Pick up a posterboard at meeting registration in the Capital View Ballroom on the 14th floor anytime between 2:00pm and 7:00pm Wednesday

  3. Assemble your poster using the adhesive materials provided and leave it and some of your business cards at the meeting registration desk

  4. On Thursday, we will place your poster in the reception area, along with your business cards, so that you can staff your poster as formally or informally as you wish

  5. After the reception, we will move your posters to the general session area (Potomac Ballroom) for display on Friday morning through the break

  6. You may take down your poster at any time. Any posters left after the meeting adjourns will be discarded

Should you wish to ship your poster to the Key Bridge Marriott please label the package as follows and it will be held for you to pick up when you check in at the hotel:
