2009 NSF ERC Annual Meeting,
December 2-4, 2009
Hyatt Regency Bethesda, Bethesda, MD

For Speakers

Thank you for agreeing to serve as a speaker at the 2009 NSF ERC Annual Meeting.  We recognize that much time and thought is necessarily devoted to preparing a first-class presentation, and we greatly appreciate your contribution of those resources to helping us design and deliver a valuable and memorable meeting for the ERC program.

To the right are links to various speaker guidelines, depending upon your specific role in the meeting.  We tried to make the expectations clear, and welcome feedback that will help us improve upon that.  There is general information for all speakers; speaker role-specific guidelines (e.g., moderator v. presenter, breakout v. plenary v. Closed; and additional information for “outside” speakers.

Note to NSF Speakers: If you are attending the meeting solely in connection with your speaking role, and do not intend to participate in one of the lunches or the reception, you do not need to register or pay the registration fee.

Please know that this speaker resource is not intended as a replacement for personal contact from the meeting planning team; we just want you to be able to access the necessary information at your convenience.  At any time, please feel free to call or email us. Questions about program content should be addressed to Court Lewis, 321-253-0153 or clewis@nsf.gov.  Any other questions (regarding registration, lodging, expense reimbursement, presentations, AV) may be directed to Kate Ryan, 262-334-3844 or kryan@abecker.com.

Some things apply to all groups, such as deadlines. The key deadline is October 30, when you have to:

  1. Make your guest room reservation (unless you are an outside speaker).
  2. Participate in a conference call with your fellow presenters and moderators to review sessoin content and flow, determine specific AV needs, and secure relevant biographical information.

Another key deadline is November 20, by which time you should have submitted your presentation and AV requirements to Kate Ryan.
