Grantee Research Presentations
 


Synopsis

Each grantee, as listed on the Conference Agenda, will have the opportunity to make a PowerPoint presentation to his or her fellow grantees and to NSF. Each presentation should be a maximum of 10 minutes long, including Q&A.  Templates are provided for each Class separately, as they reflect the one-year difference between their respective grant years.

Poster Session Information

Synopsis
• Bring your poster to the meeting.
• Poster board (30” x 40”), doublestick tape, and an easel will be provided.
• Posters are to be on display throughout the Grantees Conference.
• Investigators are to staff their poster during a designated 30-minute period.

Purpose
The objectives of the poster session are to enhance interactions among the EFRI grantees and to inform all interested NSF program officers about the research being funded by EFRI.

Logistics
Investigators will be able to assemble their poster boards starting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009, in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Ballroom Salon C on the second floor.  All posters will be on display throughout Thursday to allow NSF staff to view the posters as their schedules permit.  Two one-hour poster sessions will be held after lunch on Thursday afternoon, in which each investigator is to staff her or his poster for a designated 30-minute period. Breaks and the Thursday evening reception will be held in the vicinity of the posters as well, for additional informal networking.

Poster Format
• Use a maximum of 12 pages of 8 ½” x 11” paper, or equivalent, per poster board.
• Use clear graphics and large fonts (at least 24 pts) for text to ensure visibility.
• The poster should include project title, principal and co-principal investigators and their email addresses and universities, and NSF award number.

• For 2007 Grantees, posters should address:

    • research objectives and project description;
    • aspects of the project that will enable potentially transformative results;
    • project management plan; and
    • additional information as appropriate for the project, including information specific to how the project will address additional criteria for its specific EFRI theme.

   For 2008 Grantees, posters should address:

    • research objectives and project description;
    • status of research
    • aspects of projects that will enable potentially transformative results;
    • how is this project being managed differently in light of its multi-disciplinary and, for some, its multi-institutional nature?; and
    • additional information as appropriate for the project, including information specific to how the project will address additional criteria for its specific EFRI theme.
