Travel and Logistical Information

Local Transportation

The Westin Arlington Gateway is easily accessible via public transportation if you are traveling through Washington Reagan National Airport.  Take the Yellow Line Metro going towards Fort Totten.  At the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station, change to the Orange Line traveling to Vienna.  Disembark at the Ballston Metro station.

When you exit the station, head east on Fairfax Drive towards North Stafford Street.  Turn right onto North Randolph Street and right again onto Wilson Boulevard. Take a slight right to stay on Wilson Boulevard, and you will intersect with The Westin Arlington at 801 North Glebe Road. Total walking distance from the Ballston Metro is approximately half a mile.

If you plan to travel through Washington Dulles International Airport or Baltimore/Washington International Airport, we recommend either taking a taxi or pre-arranging shuttle transportation, as Metro service to and from these facilities is not yet available.  Approximate one-way taxi fares are $50 - $60 for Dulles and $55 - $75 for BWI.  The SuperShuttle also serves both of these airports.

Climate and Attire
Early March weather in the Metropolitan DC area averages a high of 560 and an average low of 370.  March can also be one of the rainier months, so please check your favorite weather source before packing and traveling. Business and business-casual attire are both appropriate for the meeting, and we remind you to bring what you may need to utilized the Westin’s exercise facilities or just to walk around the town.

Meals
The Conference will provide two continental breakfasts, a working lunch, morning and afternoon breaks, and the Thursday evening reception.  Outside of the conference, the immediate neighborhood offers myriad options for dinner and entertainment, and, of course, Washington DC is a short taxi or Metro ride away.

If you must cancel your attendance, please send an email to Kate Ryan as soon as possible so that the onsite Conference logistics can be adjusted accordingly. Your registration fee will be refunded after the conference, less a $25 administration fee.
